What Intergenerational Trauma and Stress Really Mean for Families

In recent years, words like epigenetics and intergenerational trauma have entered public conversation. They appear in books, podcasts, and social media, often carrying powerful meaning, but sometimes confusion.
Many families recognise patterns that seem to repeat across generations; ways of coping, survival, relationships, parenting and protecting. How many times have you noticed yourself choosing partners and experiencing the same issues again and again? How about parenting, have your promised you would never parent the way your parents did and then find yourself do the same things?
This interactive public lecture offers and calm and accessible space to explore what research actually says about stress, biology, attachment, and family patterns - and what it does not say.
